Five Years Ago . . .

Image
Five years ago Tim and I were married. In the midst of glowing candles and the smiles of friends and family, we made a vow to each other that we would become one until death parted us. We had been cautioned that marriage would not be easy, but as newly weds we were excited about the journey. Today we celebrate five years of marriage. As all couples, we have had our fair share of disagreements and difficult times, but all in all it has been wonderful. I can truly say that I love my husband more today than I did on that June night five years ago. I love watching him play with our daughter. I love that she is a "daddy's girl." I love the fact that all he has to do is walk into a room and her face lights up. Tim, thank you so much for your patience with me and my crazy pregnancy hormones. Thank you for how hard you work to provide for our family. Thank you for being someone I can always trust. I love you completely, and I cannot wait to see what the next 5 years bring!

Belly Pic

So, I realized I hadn't taken any pictures of my pregnant self, so here you go. This is about 33 weeks at a wedding we went to last night. It was dusk, hence the poor lighting. I'll try to take a better one soon, maybe Sunday.

Flooding

Hey all, Yes, still no pictures. Anyways, I thought I would let everyone who is out of town know that we are safe from flooding. Most of the flooding is happening around us in Iowa and Wisconsin. It does all end up flowing through the Rock River, which runs through town, but it has yet to crest. If it does, our house should be fairly protected. We are far from the river and on a hill with a low spot directly behind our house. We are praying for those in the flooded areas and being thankful for God's protection.

Funny Way to Wake Up!

Well, again, no pictures, but I have to share this tidbit. This morning, albeit a little earlier than I would have wished, I was startled awake by a tiny voice saying "boogers." Natalie was standing by me and pointing to her nose. Yes, she has a cold, and she wanted me to know that she had boogers and they woke her up. Too funny. So today has been spent dosing her with Tylenol and wiping her nose. Fun fun! She's also been asking where her baby sister is and patting my tummy. Yesterday she was abusing me royally (using my belly as a push off point when getting up, etc.,) so I explained that she had to be careful of mommy's baby belly. Now she's been talking about my baby belly and petting it gently. Too cute!

Praise the Lord for 32 Weeks

No pics today, but I just have to praise the Lord because I am now 32 weeks into this pregnancy. For those who don't understand the significance, this is when I was hospitalized with Natalie. She was born two weeks later at 34 weeks. I am still healthy, have no symptoms of pre - eclampsia , and am painting away getting everything ready for the new baby. Praise the Lord for health!

Mmmmm - Cookies

Image
Yesterday I decided to let Natalie help me with making cookies. She did a great job and we had a blast! Here are some highlights with the things she said. They're a little out of order because I am not that great at using Blogger with pictures! "BIG Cookies" The finished product. She barely ate any of the actual cookie. She was much more impressed with the dough - yummy! And this is proof that she may have curls - when her hair is dirty and it's humid, it curls up like this. She was a little bit afraid of the mixer at first. She doesn't like unexplained noises. Helping add the flour. "I cook! Good Helper!" "Mommy, I digging!" Nummy Nummy ! "I make Mommy sumfing (something)"

My Beautiful Girl

Natalie did a GREAT job at her two-year-old portrait session (yes, I know we are a little late, but hey, I've been busy!) You can see all of the pictures by clicking this link . Enjoy!
