Natalie was hamming it up for Tim the other night. Well, a lot has been going on in the past two months. About a month or so after the miscarriage, I was noticing something wasn't quite as it should be. I took a pregnancy test, and it came back positive. That was strange to me, because we were trying to prevent that as requested by the doctor. They called me in for blood work, and everything was indicating that I was pregnant. I was quite confused, as you can probably imagine. Two weeks ago we went in to have an ultrasound. That was eight weeks after the miscarriage. In that ultrasound they found what appeared to be a baby developing at 5 weeks gestation. We were quite perplexed, of course, because in our minds it should be about 8 weeks. The doctor asked us to come back today because at 7 weeks they should be able to see a heartbeat. The doctor said there was a good chance that there were just leftovers in there because of the earlier miscarriage, but that my numbers (hormone leve...

Ok, so I know it was 10 days early, but we let Natalie open her presents this weekend. We are going to be in KC for Christmas, and I wanted to let her play with her new toys so we didn't have to take all of them with us! She loves most of her presents, although she is more interested in putting the markers in and out of the box than using them. The table was a big hit! She had to sit in each chair one by one! Today we are having an ice storm, so Tim stayed home from work. Natalie thinks having Daddy home from work is great fun! Here is a video of them playing together! She never laughs like that for me! I guess she's just a Daddy's girl! I love to hear her giggle! She's really talking more and more, which is so much fun! She started saying "baby" instead of signing it, so that's pretty cute. As we begin the holiday season, I am so thankful for all that God has given our family. While we do not live like kings, we have everything we need, and I am blessed to be able to stay home with our daughter while running a successful business. I was also blessed to have my family and Tim's family together for Thanksgiving! It was so much fun! While my dad was here, we repainted my kitchen (pictures to come later after we have cleaned up!) I am also thankful for by wonderful HUSBAND who takes such good care of our family. Finally, I am thankful for our beautiful, inquisitive daughter! She is so much fun! I hope everyone had a great and blessed day!

So, I wanted to put something on the wall in the playroom half of our basement to brighten things up a bit. So here is what I made: Yes, I did paint it, but I had help. To see where I got it, visit www.elephantsonthewall.com. Anyways, Natalie doesn't like wearing socks in the house, so I bought her these bunny slippers so her feet will stay warm in the winter. She LOVES Them! She likes to carry them around like stuffed animals. I hope with these bunnies I can keep her feet warm when it starts getting cold!

While Tim and I haven't totally decided what we are going to do about the Halloween thing, we do think it's OK to get her dressed up. She didn't cooperate well for her pictures, but here are some pics of her costume. She loves getting dressed up! Here she is with a few of her buddies from playgroup.

Well, I decided a week of bad news was enough. Yes, I did miscarry (for anyone who didn't see the previous post), but we are still loving the beautiful girl we have! Natalie had the stomach flu this week, which was not fun. She is so sweet even when she's sick. She was very cuddly! She got over it pretty quickly, but now she doesn't want to eat. Any experienced moms out there, I am really looking for advice! She is still eating baby food! (She only has two bottom teeth, though, so I have a hard time "forcing" her to eat real food.) I got this cat costume for her to play with, and she wanted to wear it the other day. It was pretty cute! The costume is old, but a kid in a costume is just plain cute! We went to the pumpkin patch today, but no luck getting a pumpkin picture! She's stil scared of the...

When Tim and I decided to allow the possibility of having another child, I made it my prayer that the Lord would allow the pregnancy to happen in His time, not mine. Of course, I wanted to be pregnant right away (those of you who know me well probably know that patience is not one of my best virtues). I was concerned if we were really ready or not, but I was excited about having a second child. Last week when I posted the "Big Sister" picture, I had just found out that I was pregnant. As you will notice, that post is no longer up. I started having a miscarriage yesterday, and today went in for some tests and the doctor feels that I am losing this baby and the pregnancy. I will know for sure after some more blood work on Wednesday. I really am OK with this. Perhaps the emotions will hit later, but for now, I am accepting this as the Lord's will. My prayer from the beginning has been that this will happen only when the Lord deems it the right time. Obviously, June was not t...

I did surprise Tim with a small party on his birthday. We had a ton of fun playing games with friends and family. While no one had confirmed that they were coming, we had a nice little group and he was surprised. I couldn't believe that I actually pulled it off. Here are some pictures from the party. We took Natalie to the mall to get her picture taken, and it was a near disaster. We finally got some decent shots when the photographer found a rocking horse. She was scared and then stubborn, but we finally got some. Afterwards we played in the play area. Here are some pictures of that. Of course, with it being fall we had to go to the apple orchard. Here are some pictures from that. Natalie loved it, but she wasn't impressed with how sticky her fingers got from the doughnut. And, for some reason, she is terrified of pumpkins! Hey everyone! Today Tim turned 30! Wish him a happy day! Here's an old pic of the two of us!

Lately, Natalie has become so "talkative." I put that in quotes because I usually have no idea what she is saying. One phrase is quite clear, though, and that is "right back" (more like ra ba, but quite obvious). I say that to her all the time when I leave the room so she won't freak out, and obviously she caught on. She will tell me "right back" when she is going out far in the backyard, and she's pretty proud of herself. I bought some Fisher Price Little People toys at a garage sale when she was tiny, and I just got them out for her. She loves the animals, and I was sitting at my computer and looked over and she was making the funniest face! In her hand was a parrot, and she was trying to imitate it's face! So, it has been an interesting week. I will post some pictures, but I am afraid they are a month or so old. I am just not good at getting pictures of my fast-running child. The biggest change for me and Natalie has been that I joined a playgroup. So far, everyone has been very friendly and accepting. Today we met with just the people in our age-specific group. We were at a park, and Natalie was copying everything the other kids were doing. It was pretty cute, and I think it will be really good for her since she is never around children. Last week we met at Sapora playworld, which is an indoor playcenter with tunnels and rope ladders, etc. They have one side that is just for "tiny tots" and Natalie really enjoyed it. We have also been attending a Wee Read story time at a local library. She really enjoys watching all the mommies and daddies getting into the motions of the songs. We got to do a "craft" on Monday, which consisted of me trying to keep Natalie from eating...

Natalie turned 18 months this week! She had her checkup yesterday and is a healthy girl. She is in the 75% for height and 48% for weight, so, according to the doctor, she is tall and slim. She is behind in speech, so pray that I will have wisdom as to whether or not to pursue therapy. The doctor recommended having her evaluated, but I am not sure it's important since she did everything late and is only 16 months old developmentally. Here's a pic from this morning of my big girl!

Today while I was cooking dinner, Natalie was cracking me up! I had given her a couple of chocolate chips, and I think they went to her head! Check it out! Natalie finally has long enough hair to do something with, and with my mom's help, I put it in Pig Tails this weekend. We are having a nice visit with my parents. Natalie is being much more pleasant this trip, and I had the chance to catch up with an old friend. It's amazing how with some people we are able to start right where we left off, even after four or five years. Jenny was my best friend in high school, and although we haven't seen each other since Tim and I were married, we still had a very nice visit. Here are some pictures of Natalie. We went to a place called Deanna Rose Farm , which was quite a bit of fun (AND FREE!). Natalie enjoyed seeing all of the animals, and had her first Popsicle! Here she is on a baby-sized bridge at the farm. She loved playing with the goats until one almost knocked her down. Here she is with her Popsicle. No, she didn't finish it - grandpa helped! All ready for church on Sunday!
